Alberta W. Prather

Alberta W. Prather 89, Speedway, Indiana passed away September 10, 2012. She was born August 12, 1923 the daughter of Jonah and Lela (Knapp) Wright. She had worked at RCA, Captioned Films for the Deaf and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Sorority. Alberta was a graduate of The Illinois School for the Deaf and was a member of Senior Silent Hoosiers and her Ladies Euchre Club. She was baptized at Chapel Rock Christian Church. Survivors: daughter, Amy (Phil) Cornwell; son, Richard (Debi) Prather; grandchildren, Kristen (Rick McGuire) Cornwell, Jonathan (Nichole) Cornwell, Abby Prather and Andrew (Jamie) Prather; great grandchildren, Michael and Kamryn McGuire; brother, Lyle Wright; nieces and nephews, Dewey Wright, Mike Wright, Lynn Hayes, Lisa Vaglica, Bob Prather and Beverly Miller and aunt, Wanda Briggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Prather and a brother, Jack Wright. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 13, 2012 and after 10:00 am Friday, September 14, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Floral Park 425 N. Holt Road. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, September 14, 2012 at the funeral center. Interment, Floral Park Cemetery.
