Albert C. Kleinschmidt

Albert (Al) C. Kleinschmidt, 94, of Carmel, passed away January 18, 2014. Albert was born December 25, 1919 to the late Ernest and Hulda (Fricke) Kleinschmidt in Arenzville, Illinois. On June 1, 1952 he was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Swanson, together they had two children; David Kleinschmidt (Laura) and Joyce Jobs (Arnold). Betty preceded him in death. At the age of 14, he professed a hope in Christ. He was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church of York, PA for 24 years, Redeemer Lutheran Church of Peoria, IL for 10 years, and Carmel Lutheran Church since 1987. Al started his education in a one room school near Petersburg, IL and progressed through Lincoln College with a degree in Business in 1939. Al was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 43 years. He retired on February 1, 1985. Al will be remembered for his warm smile, positive outlook on life, devotion to his family and enduring faith in Jesus Christ. He leaves behind his children, sister, Janice Beckman; and four grandchildren; Adam, Andrew, and Emily Jobs, and Rachel Kleinschmidt. Services will be on Friday, January 24, at Carmel Lutheran Church at 11:00 am. Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Carmel Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria, IL on January 25 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alhzheimers Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240 Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
