Albert Anderson

Albert Howard "Red" Anderson of Lebanon, IN passed away at home December 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 15, 1924 to the late Bud and Euzella Anderson in Indianapolis. Red was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy, who served his country during WWII, and was honorably discharged in April of 1946. He married Edith Catheryn (Katie) Anderson on April 13, 1951. Red drove for Pepsi in Indianapolis from 1951 to 1958, and then worked for IKC/Transcon Freight Lines for 28 years, until his retirement in 1986. Following retirement, he worked part-time at Lincoln Memory Gardens. Red enjoyed working on cars, wood working, listening to blue grass music and gospel music, and traveling to Kentucky. He was active in American Legion Post 410. Red was a devoted father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his family. Red is survived by his children Josephine Fields of Parker City, IN; Rena Stephens (Rick) of Speedway, IN; Robert Anderson (Rose) of Indianapolis, IN; Rick Anderson (Bonnie) of Lebanon IN, and Lynn Noe of Lebanon, IN. He is also survived by his sisters Norma Anderson of Brownsburg, IN, Dannie Silver of Camby, IN, and brother Paul Anderson of Indianapolis. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Red was preceded in death by his wife Katie in 1995; by his brothers Leo and Clarence Anderson; by his son-in-law Fred Fields; and by his grandson David Anderson. Calling for Red will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville. Services will be there Friday, January 3rd at 11 a.m., with calling from10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Eagle Creek Cemetery.
