Albert Joseph Rodgers Jr., retired Navy Master Chief 1973, age 87, born to Albert J. Rodgers and Susan A. Porach Rodgers, passed away on May 6, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He spent military time on six naval ships, four include aircraft carriers, and he was involved in the 1962 Cuban Crisis. Albert spent 50 years in Indianapolis area, with 24 years in Carmel, Indiana.
Albert was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church 50 years, a 4th Degree Knight, and received an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on October 21, 2017.
Albert leaves wife, Jacqueline B. Rodgers of Greenfield, MA and five sons and their families, Albert J. and Susan Rodgers III of Knightstown, IN, Stephen and Mary Lou Rodgers of Fallbrook, CA, Barry K. Rodgers of Indianapolis, IN, Michael and Susan Rodgers of Vista, CA, Kenneth and Pamela Rodgers of Brownsburg, IN, his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Dick Meeker of Virginia Beach, VA, sister-in-law, Marylyn Neigh Rodgers, 20 grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 10:00am-12:00pm at St. Monica Catholic Church with a funeral mass to follow at 12:00pm. Inurnment will take place following the funeral mass at 2:00pm at Crown Hill National Cemetery.
