Alan Reed, 58, Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Alan was born May 15, 1957 in Springfield, Ohio. He worked as a chaplain for IU Health, was a volunteer at Church at the Crossing, as well as a former pastor and missionary in Japan and Hong Kong for the First Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. Alan was an incredible family man who loved all people and spent each day of his life sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife, Diane Reed; children, Rachel Bertschman and her husband Ryan, David Reed and his wife Mallory and Matthew Reed; father and mother, George and Ruth Reed; mother in law, Fay Hatch; grandchildren, Noah and Katie Bertschman, Isla Reed, Asher Reed, and Elliot Reed; sister, Retha Stork and her husband Keith; brother, Eric Reed and his wife Grace; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Church at the Crossing from 12-3pm. Services will take place on Sunday at 4pm, also at the church. Additional visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday. Contributions in memory of Alan may be made to the missions department at Church at the Crossing or the hospice program at IU Health.
