A. Rene Weaver

Alberta René Weaver lost her battle with Breast Cancer January 10, 2018 at the age of 59 surrounded by her loving family.

René was born July 17, 1958 in Indianapolis to James and Charlesetta (Johnson) Weaver. She accepted Christ at an early age and throughout her life became a role model for those young and old. She attended John Marshall High School, Indianapolis, IN and Laney Junior College, Oakland, CA.  Rene was married twice and for the last 23 years of her life she lived as a happily single mother and grandmother. René was known as the life of the party! She never met a stranger and was not often seen without a smile on her face.   Throughout her life, René has lived in a variety of cities including Virginia Beach, VA, Fairfield, CA, England, and Chicago, IL. She greatly enjoyed bowling, softball, golf, swimming, reading, roller skating and traveling all over the world with her family and friends. In 2013, she relocated to warmer weather in Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked for Sitel Operations Cooperation as a Call Center Supervisor until she departed this life.

René is survived by her children James Davis (Jennifer), Marcus Palmer, and Tracy Gilbert (David); step-son Kalandrus Powell; grandchildren Darrin Davis, Alexis Palmer, Olivia Palmer, Taylen Gilbert, Sophia Palmer and Nadia Palmer; mother Charlesetta Weaver; siblings Bryan Weaver (Teresa), Mark Weaver (Stefania), Paul Weaver (Nakeesha), Charles Weaver and Rhoda Weaver-Perry (Darrell); as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father James Weaver (1993).

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Friday, January 19 from 10 AM to 12 noon with a brief Service beginning at 12 noon at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd W. Drive, Indianapolis.

*Rene’s wishes were to not have a funeral but a celebration of life.
