Sarah Colleen Lewis, 26 of Fishers, passed away at her home Monday, February 11, 2019.  Sarah was born November 5, 1992 in Maryville, IL.  She was a 2011 graduate of Fishers High School, received her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017 and was presently working on her Master’s degree in mental health and addiction counseling.

Sarah was a life skills coach at Aspire, where she led group sessions and helped those in need, including finding housing for the homeless.  She had a warm and bubbly personality and a smile that will be missed by her co-workers.

Sarah loved music and played the piano, French horn and guitar.  She enjoyed staying home, watching movies, especially Disney movies and Harry Potter.  Fall was Sarah’s favorite season, she enjoyed being outdoors and building bonfires.  A true animal lover, Sarah brought home many strays over the years.

Sarah is survived by her parents, Trish and Carson Lewis; brother, Chris and his wife Caitlin Lewis; the love of her life, Thomas Foxworthy; uncles, Jim and Mike O’Meara, Elroy Lewis, Jr. and Duane Lewis and his wife Rebecca; aunt, Karen Lewis; great aunts, Sr. Kathryn O’Meara, Jane Marinich and her husband Ed; great uncles John Swan and his wife Teresa and Gerry Mack and Robert Swan and his wife Doris; cousins and many second cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Margaret O’Meara and Elroy and Elvira Lewis.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Conner Suite, where family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 pm until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah Lewis Memorial Fund – First Friends K-9 (12401 Reynolds Dr, Fishers, IN 46038), where Sarah’s beloved German Shepherd Oscar was born and her first job as a kennel attendant. First Friends K-9 supports SOAR, a non-profit organization who helps the homeless and their pets. First Friends K-9 provides free boarding, training, collars and leashes, food and veterinary care for these homeless pets. The Sarah Lewis Memorial Fund will help defray some of these out of pocket expenses for First Friends K-9.
