Christopher "Chris" Francis Pole

Christopher (Chris) Francis Pole of Fishers, Indiana was surrounded by family and friends when he passed on to join his Lord in the heavenly realm on April 15, 2022. Chris was born on October 11, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana and spent part of his childhood in Gary, Indiana as well as Houston, Texas. He moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1983. He earned his BA from Indiana University in 1976 and a law degree from Western State College of Law in Fullerton, California in 1979.
In addition to representing clients in the private practice of law in the Indianapolis area, Chris was employed for 17 years with the IRS in several capacities including that of auditor. He was a tax consultant and preparer for private clients as well as H&R Block after his service at the IRS. Chris also served as an instructor of tax law for Purdue University sponsored seminars held throughout the state of Indiana.
It was while working for the IRS that he met the love of his life, Louina Stephenson whom he married on August 20, 1988. With over 33 years of marriage, Chris was totally devoted to Ena and her three children who benefited greatly from his loving care. He was committed to his role as a husband, father, and provider. Always there. Always available. Always ready to guide, to encourage, assist and love. Chris and Ena shared a fierce loyalty to the Chicago Cubs and Indiana University basketball. Equal to the love of these teams was the enjoyment derived from spending time with family and friends. Chris had a passion for the game of Golf which was exceeded only by his devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the rich fellowship that he and Ena enjoyed at Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Pole. He is survived by his wife, Louina, stepdaughters Shannon Marie (Brett) Sims of Upland, Indiana and Heather Lynette (Mike) Sigler of Indianapolis, Indiana, stepson Lance Joseph Deaton (Julia) of Bloomington, Indiana, six step grandchildren and several cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law.
A visitation for Chris will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, beginning at 2pm at the Northside Baptist Church, 3021 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220 with a memorial service to follow at 3pm at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northside Baptist Church.
