Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers began in 1881 when Frank W. Flanner opened a funeral home in downtown Indianapolis. His brother-in-law, Charles J. Buchanan, joined the business six years later. Over the decades, the Buchanan family has expanded the operations, today, Flanner and Buchanan has become the state's largest family-owned funeral care business.  The company's mission is "to create meaningful end-of-life events for every family that we serve."
