Lotzajazz at Washington Park North

Mark Your Calendar Now for Next Year's Event -
Sunday, September 4th, 2011, 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Special thanks to this year’s new co-sponsor: Firefighter’s Local 416
A Recap of 2010: The sounds of jazz and the smell of good food filled the air. Children played, family and friends shared fellowship, and LOTZAJAZZTM 2010 was again celebrated in grand style. Nearly 1,000 jazz lovers turned out on a gorgeous summer day. Many sought shade under the canopy of trees that surround the stage. Some brought umbrellas or even tents to set camp. One group played cards while listening to the music. You might call it a community picnic with great music!
Special thanks to the Pike High School Band who kicked off the event with only a few days of practice.
Again, LOTZAJAZZTM is beholding to Chuck Workman who put together another spectacular selection of Indy’s best jazz musicians. Young Bryan Thompson was the first headliner to perform, playing many of his own compositions. He was followed by bassist Jennifer Kirk who brought along two guitarists in a tribute to Indy jazz great Wes Montgomery. Greg Sansing and the JAZZsetters caped the evening with their smooth sound.
LOTZAJAZZ is:
-          A celebration of local JAZZ music
-          A Northside community gathering
-          Free rides to and from your car on a golf cart (try to find that anywhere else!)
-          A family event for all ages
